| Desiree just wouldn’t shut up about this party tonight. We were in her rather ostentatious screaming yellow Porsche, waiting for the bell to ring to go to class.
“It’s going to be so much fun, Tsuki! Starfall parties are landmark events! You have to come—everybody’s going to be there!” she squealed at me.
That was the exact reason I didn’t want to go. The thought of being in a house filled to the brim with drunk guys made me shudder.
“Desire..." I pleaded quietly. “Please don’t make me go to this thing. I’m really uncomfortable about the whole idea.” I didn’t want to tell her the real reason why I didn’t want to go, it would make her suspicious, and the rumors flying around school were already drawing her attention to my behavior.
It was silent for a moment, and I thought for sure I had finally won this argument, but when I looked up at her, I knew I had lost. She was giving me the classic “Puppy pout.” No one could deny that look even if they wanted to. And honestly, I wanted to show her that I could try to be normal for an hour or two, hoping maybe it would suppress her worries about me for a while.
“Ugh! Fine! I’ll go in with you and chat with Vanessa for a few minutes, then I’m going back home!” I said, annoyed.
She squealed and started bouncing in her seat. “You’ll see, Tsuki-you'll have fun!” I rolled my eyes and opened the car door just as the bell rang. I had a mantra I had to repeat to myself at times like this, walking across the quad and feeling the eyes of every soul on my head. Hair up, head down. I was feeling more tired by the second. The day hours always amplified my drowsiness.
Why was Caden never around when you needed him?

"Party-party-party! I wanna have a party! I need to have a party! You better have a party!..."A boy rocked out to a song he sung with no music behind it, right out in the open for everyone to witness the odd spectacle. Obviously, he couldn't care less who was watching, but he wished he had some students who would join in. The only other of the trainer's party outside of their pokeballs was a timid Glaceon, who stayed close by her trainer, but not without embarrassment. of course Vince took notice of this, but could only smile. "Ah, come on! There's gonna be a party!""But...This isn't what-""Ah, we'll be fine! I need a break anyways. It's been nothing but hard work since we got here.""We've only been here for two days...""Meh, details. It'll be fine!"

Sjha sat in his seat, watching as the teacher started their class; he wanted to listen, but as they went on he just felt like he knew most of it already. His head rested on a hand which covered his ear, in his palm rested a small speaker/headphone, hooked up to his SOL which rested in on of his shirts many pockets; his mouth moving along silently to the lyrics (( www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKnALMBXmEo )). He wasn’t in to much of a present mood today; there was news of a party going around the school, and he wasn’t a very ‘party’ kind of person; but he felt somewhat drawn to it… He picked his pencil and started to sketch with his right hand; but he continued to look into space. On the paper was the image of a man hanging, the words ‘what a pleasant surprise’ was ’scratched’ under it, a almost evil smile slowly crept across his face; his eyes still looking far off into the distance “…What a pleasant surprise….”

Jack ran to his next class, normally he wouldn't be running even if he was late. But this was his first day of classes, and the teacher's name caught him off guard. Aven, William L. This couldn't be less ideal if he had planned it himself. He was enemies with a teacher? Entering the classroom he found.... A substitute teacher..... Jack sat in the back of the class slightly disappointed. There were rumors of a party happening soon, maybe this was just the needed distraction.

Pfft. Puh-leeeeeeeeeease. A pop quiz? Rose gritted her teeth at the thought of some pointless quiz designed not to make sure that students were studying their materials, but solely to entertain teachers as all students groaned loudly. Of course, Rose herself was ready for the pop quiz; her mother had often times used pop quizzes, so this wasn't at all new to her. As the teacher scribbled the questions on the board, a sigh escaped Rose's lips. Underneath her desk, a paper rustled, and she picked it up curiously. It read in brightly colored ink, "OMG! You heard the news?!" "No?!" "There's a party!!" "OMG really?! That's pretty kewl?!" "I kno rite!" "K girl, n33d to finish my t3st." "Ur writing in #'s!" "OMG Kaylee stop!" "K, sry." "STOP!" That wasn't weird at all, but... Rose kind of smiled to herself. A party? She wasn't at all a party kind of person... Her definition of a party was going to the park with a few friends. Obviously this party would be different, so maybe it wasn't the best thing to go... And besides, she didn't know if one needed an invitation, either. It'd be cool to go, I guess... Still. I don't wanna make a fool outta myself... For a minute, Rose froze. Who, exactly, would be there...? Actually... Rose didn't want to know. I guess if I gather the courage to go, she promised herself, I'll go... If not, I'll just head to the park... Heh. Already one option sounds better than the other.

| "Remind me why I've decided to come with you again?"
"You're doing it for the sake of yourself; if you hole yourself up in your dorm any longer you'll forget how to speak. Now stop complaining and fix your hair, we've got to show some degree of style if we're going to blend in."
"Blend in? You're three feet tall Silas, this is a party for the upperclassmen. And I honestly don't see why you put so much fuss into your appearance, it's not like you stand a chance with any of them anyways...
...Are we even going to be allowed in there?"
"Farrah, Farrah, Farrah...*Sighs* You're only fun for subduing test specimens, you know that? But I assure you, there's reason to believe this party will be of particular intrest. Just stick with me, I have it under control."
"Each time you say my name, it's another rib you're losing. And suuuure, I believe you."
"Alright, I see how it is. Be that way. But you'll take everything back once you get a look at the patrons..."
The pair of squabbling youngsters only seemed to grow more hostile towards each other as they waited outside the classroom. Their own sessions had ended early, seeing as they were only in the Middle School sessions, and Farrah barely at that. Following a good deal more squabbling, they peeked through the glass to note a boy chanting out lyrics and some others in the back. Their reactions ranging from disbelief at the grooving Glaceon owner to disapproval, at least from Silas' perspective, of those daydreaming or note-passing in the back. Eventually their eyes turned to the clock, waiting for the next bell to release those within. It would be a good opportunity to gather intelligence about the upoming party; but it was only too unfortunate that patient spying would be key...

A party? This early in the year?? It seemed to be quite the surprise to many students around the school, and it was no exception when Ryan had heard about it. The boy caught wind of the event as he moved slowly between classes, as he stopped to readjust his earbuds that were blaring classic rock into his ears. "Heh...A party? Of course I've gotta check that out, anything to get back in the swing of things..." He muttered to himself. Yeah, a party would be sure to pick the boy's spirit back up...Sure, spending time with his son Adam was awesome, but even parents needed to chill and get their minds back on track. Seeing a couple of his friends and catching up with them would be a good thing at this point. Instantly knowing his plans for tonight now, Ryan nodded and placed his headphones back in, now blaring some AC/DC, his favorite Rock group. It seemed like all would be good at this point, he had plans tonight, was almost done with his classes for the day and now was jamming to his favorite band, nearly busting out on the air guitar as he moved along. He just hoped he would see a select few of his friends at the event...

Tsukiko couldn't believe she'd just been persuaded by her best friend into going to a party with an anonymous host. How dodgy was that? Anonymous host... It was probably a vampire. Or something similar to that, because simply knowing Desiree Mahr got people into trouble. Tsukiko knew that from first hand experience. She slid into class like a ghost, no one noticed that she was late. Tsukiko was always late, the people in her classes had gotten used to her not being punctual. Tsukiko took her usual seat next to a girl she knew to be new around the school. Rose? Was that her name? She wasn't sure... "Hello again.. You going to the party? I am, but unwillingly." Tsukiko and the new girl talked during class, and knew eachother well enough.
- / - / - / - / - / -
. . .
Desiree Mahr was psyched. She was the first person who had known about the party and, being the natural gossip, had gotten the news spread around the school pretty quickly. She sat in her Yellow Porsche, kicking her feet up on the dashboard and putting on the radio at a pretty unreasonable volume, but good enough. Desiree was an excellent person to have at a party - herself being a performer at Emerald Club and having a hell of a time every time she partied. She waved to Vince playfully, grinning brightly and giving him a 'thumb's-up.' Anyone who would do that infront of so many people, had her respect.
- / - / - / - / - / -
. . .
A slender girl watched the squabbling pair amusedly, sitting on one of the stone benches with a normal-looking Nintendo DSi held infront of her, beeping with odd noises here and there. Ayumi had had a growth spurt recently; which had resulted in her being taller and curvier and wanting to avoid most human contact. Her hair - usually plaited - hung in two pigtails, her clothing a pair of denim shorts, Nike runners and a top which stopped just above her belly button. Her mother had helped her choose the clothes - even if Ayumi greatly detested them - and she did look good in them. "If you need a pass into the party, I might be able to get you them..." She had the melodious voice and the quirky smile.
"I'm going myself, just for the hell of it."

Yes..he had the mass's attention. By this train of thought you'd think the blue-haired wonder was taking action in some diabolical plot to take over the island. However, anyone who knew Vince knew that such was not the case. Vince was no super malicious mastermind: Just an idiot.
He noticed he got a thumb's up from a girl in a car, in which he smiled and waved back. "Haha, yes, I got attentio-Hey...I know her!"
The boy ran over to the car with a smile and bent over slightly to meet the girl face to face. "Yeah! You're that girl who tried to get me to drink alcohol! ...Uhh...Desiree! What are you doing here?" ("Wait...she what?!")

| "...If you're so smart, why didn't you wait to show up until at least twenty minutes before class is over? Waiting out here in the hallway for information we might not even find..."
"What's intolerable is your constant yapping. We need to make sure all variables have the greatest degree of control, what if someone runs out to the bathroom early and we miss out on a important fact?"
"Why would someone be talking to themself about a party while going to the bathroom? Really Silas, for a genius you can be a real idiot...
"Hey shut up, someone's coming!" |
As they finally became aware of footsteps proceeding down the hall, of course several seconds too late, the boy dashed off to hide in a locker, whilst Farrah simply stood there in disbelief for how ridiculous the effort was. Didn't he know that such tactics only worked in movies? It probably wasn't too integral to remain hidden then. Sighing, she walked over and snapped the door open, allowing the boy to spill out and catch his breath from being so cramped, along with hearing the words the girl had recently projected towards him. Speaking of the girl herself... "A....pass? Pass to the party? Um, you're going? (Forget the pass, I want her number!)"Um, Silas...you might want to get off your head if you're going to speak properly. *Sighs*"The casanova prodigy finally realized his situation and flipped up from the ground, giving a quick shake like a dog to loosen all the old chip bags and pencil dust that had clung to him in the empty locker. He grinned stupidly, automatically making Farrah facepalm in response. She knew what was on his mind...and she was pretty sure it would extend to the rest of the girls that attend the party. "Yeah, I'd like to hear this, sure! You had a plan in mind? ..... (Wait, a sec, I recognize that voice from anywhere...but pigtails? No way!)
...Ayumi? Ayumi, what are you doing trying to go to a party like that? Who blackmailed you?"The grin swiftly evaportated and moved into disbelief, as he looked to a shrugging Farrah and confirmed his worst fears. Not her...why'd she go and ruin her image like that? Sure, she looked nice, but...there was no way that could be the real Ayumi. He would have to record his findings and come up with a theory for her behavior. There had to be a factor he was missing out on. Farrah decided to walk over and take a bench nearby that was free. Judging by Silas' reaction, they were going to be here for a while. Good thing they had showed up too early...

| "...The h*** is wrong with him?" Glancing out into the hallway, the boy crimson tones could just make out the image of a blue blur, the probability of bipedal hedgehogs zooming down the hall rather unlikely, but the description suiting the sight. Did he just book out in the middle of class? The boy decided he didn't care eough to ponder it and leaned back in his chair, ready for the remainder of the battle class lecture. He knew a lot of this stuff already, but it was good to stay fresh on the material. It'd be nicer if they could get into another field segment, but seeing as it was so early in the year, that probably wouldn't occur until the following midterm...
Meanwhile, the class assistant sat patiently, rocking a bit in her chair and watching as the teacher wrapped up her lecture. She was surprised to get a break from her original job, but she wasn't complaing. After all, she just so happened to schedule the shift on the week PA was having a party. She just so happened to bring along a choice wardrobe too...she giggled some at the thought before reurning to the task of evaluating the lower grade papers...
Who knows, the students of PA might get one heck of a surprise at this coming party. If she had anything to do with it of course.

Calming down as she waited for the girl's response, Tsukiko scratched down her answers for the pop quiz with a quick and masterful hand, inwardly stretching her radar as far as it would go. And it didn't take long shifting through aimless lifeforces before she found that ever relevent stubborn man. I wonder if you're going to go to the party... Haha. The mental image of you at a party is hilarious; I really hope that becomes reality. Just for the hell of it, she prodded his lifeforce with a psychic tendril, smiling to herself.
- / - / - / - / - / -
. . .
Immediately, she seemed sort of cutely indignant. "I did not try to make you drink alcohol. I simply suggested it... There ain't no legal limit on the island." But then she smiled, a blissfully innocent smile but just a girl charming her way into people's hearts. "Nice to see you again, Vince. I'm just waiting another ten minutes before I've got to run... So I'm guessing that you're going to the party, huh?"
- / - / - / - / - / -
. . .
"My best friend's a performer at Emerald Club, where the party's being held." She had the pink ribbon tied around her wrist as a bracelet, which was usually the biggest identification method for her friends. "I have all-access VIP passes. I only have a few but.. well, there are only a few VIP passes for the Club." She shrugged lightly, not really caring for plans. Ayumi preferred not to do the complicated where the complicated wasn't necessary, if that made any sense at all. (Her words, not mine.) Ayumi recognized Silas and... honestly felt a bit jealous that he had this girl with him. But that wasn't her nature; rather the Lycan's. And now that she wasn't wearing her turtleneck, the large crescent shaped bite mark where the previous Lycanthrope had bitten her was just visible.
Underneath numerous beaded necklaces. She always tried to cover the bite mark, as best she truly could. "...What? I can't go to a party that you two are planning to sneak into?" She raised an eyebrow at him in the typical Mahr fashion. "I have connections to the host of the party. And that's all I'm sayin'."

The girl that sat next to her... Rose could have sworn that the teacher said her name when she was made to introduce herself to the class. ...Fumiko? No... No, it started with a T. Tsukiko! That was it! 'Least she did remember. Rose often had the hardest time remembering names, least of all people she'd just met. At least she was talking about something Rose had half an idea about. "Hi..." Rose greeted her softly, not looking up from her test. Already she knew the first five answers- regardless of whether or not she was paying attention, she ALWAYS knew what the tests were about. "Thinking about it..." She sighed. "I might, might not. Maybe it'll be worthwile..." Rose kind of chuckled only to freeze up upon thinking of something that could potentially put herself in social danger. Oh... No. Please. No. Zoning. Off.

"No legal age limit? Who in charge of this place?! Gonna have drunk little munchkins runnin' around here! And don't you know ain't ain't a word? Aiyaiya....I now fear for your school..."
Of course he was merely joking, at least about the "ain't" part. No wonder this school was considered dangerous from the stories: It's probably because people are running around drunk out of there ever-loving minds! Well, from what Vince had heard, this school was dangerous in the sense that it attracted a lot of nut-jobs with power. He had yet to experience anything head on, and he hoped things would remain that way, even if it meant running in the opposite direction as everyone else.
"But of course! Parties aren't parties unless you have at least one Vince on hand, and lucky for you guys, I happen to be that Vince. An anonymous host is almost as intriguing as I am, so I have to go if solely to discover the identity of the host." ("...We're gonna get in trouble again...*Sigh*")

| (Whoa, where did that scar come from? It's not a cut, that's for sure...)
"Of course you can't come to a party we're trying to bust into. You have a clean record so far, right? Anyways, it's not like we're going just to enjoy ourselves..."
Farrah blissfully ignored Silas' statement of we as she fixated an eye on the clock, as if her mental processes would help it move any faster. Silas seemed to be engrossed in his exchange of dialog with Ayumi, finally noting the pink ribbons she wore as well. She was wearing it last time too...though it had been a little looser in how it fit around her wrist.
"So um, that's all said and good with you having VIP passes but....how'd you manage to get these connections with the party host anyway? I mean, you look like you could fit the part, but I'm pretty sure the school registry says you're thirteen. (How'd she even register for the semester anyway? DNA test? Still, this is the age for them...)
Sorry if it seems I'm a little curious. But it's not often that someone can figure out how to weasel something out of someone before I can. Just research so that I can be a little more self-sufficient."
Silas' stupid smile seemed to convey the fact he was entirely oblivious that accusing others of swindling was wrong. Ignoring the fact he was promoting himself as a con-artist seemed to make him equally happy. A sad, sad soul he was indeed. But hopefully getting what he wanted would get him out of the shady side for a while. He was almost to think Ayumi was made from the same fabric too.
Of course, it depended on how she responded to this. Getting compliance or getting chased off would serve him either way.
|
|
| Well apparently there wasn't much more entertainment to be garnered from looking around. Caden fancied that he'd heard a bit of a disturbance in the hallway, but the change wasn't big enough to cause him to investigate. Not to mention most of the students in the classroom were too mature to rush out for something as trivial as a hall bout. His pen began to tap rhythmically upon the edge of his desk, keeping the tempo of a conversation he'd prefer to be having. But suddenly it was disrupted by the awkward jab of energy apparently originating across the hall.
(Hmph...teacher not doing any good for her, huh? No way she could be doing anything but slacking.) He thought with a smirk, acting as if he'd ignored the gesture just to get a better picture of what she was up to. Probably wasn't a good thing to try in he middle of a lecture, but at least it would give his mind a greater challenge than going over review material. He needed to be able to focus on multiple subjects at once.
(...Should be over in a few minutes...listening to a redundant explanation, getting prodded in the head while doing so...not quite an ideal learning enviornment...) |

| || The Druid || Tsukiko frowned the slightest bit at the lack of response. He was such an aggravative person, but then she brightened up as she leaned back in her chair and began weaving a special brand of her own magic, nodding politely at Rose. She was preoccupied for about a minute before she sent the spell out. It was a generally tricky spell, but Tsukiko had gotten it right. If he didn't have some sort of response to this, Caden was simply being mean.
As the spell took affect, a silvery fog wafted into Caden's classroom, though also invisible to anyone but Caden himself. It floated infront of Caden's desk before settling just above that smooth surface and forming words in Tsukiko's own handwriting. 'It's bad luck to ignore someone trying to get your attention you stubborn, snarly male.' It vanished, and more words appeared in the same silvery mist. 'Yes, you read right. I called you SNARLY. And stubborn for that matter...' The words were running with her thoughts. 'Oh well. Forget about that. Do you think you can stand joining me at Emerald Club for the party? That's going on tonight?'
'Not that you have much of a choice or anything..'
|| The Witch || Desiree grinned and listened to Vince's words with the unbridled enthusiasm shining in her eyes. "Trust me, Vince, we all fear for the school. It's like... Part of the students' timetables." She blinked slightly at him, but it was an amused blink. "While you're here, you'll get to learn that Starfall parties are landmark events no matter who's the host, Vince. Usually there ain't..." |
She rolled her eyes, "...parties this early in the year, but I've got a good feeling about this one."|| The Lycan ||"...You looked at my school registry? That is kind of creepy you know..." Ayumi gave him a speculative look as he said that, and took a step back. She held a sort of frailty to her, probably because of something that had happened in her past but fortunately Ayumi remembered she had company and the shadowed look in her eyes disappeared. "I don't see how my connections to the host of the party are any of your business... The host is meant to be anonymous, remember?"
"As for how I actually got the passes, I would say girlish charm but I doubt that is of any use to you.. Or your friend for that matter." It was a sharp, jealous remark which if he wasn't paying attention could have seemed completely innocent. Ayumi had the urge to stick her tongue out at the obviously irritated Farrah, but she resisted that urge. She only did that with people she'd known for longer than she had Silas. A lot longer. "Flattery's always good for persuading something out of an individual, as long as they're not complete strangers. Or you could simply pretend you really needed whatever you're trying to get, because that usually works as well. For girls, all a lot of us have to do is simply give the person an 'about to cry' look and we get what we want.."And then she was back to simply inspecting her fingernails and smiling to both herself, and her company. Ayumi knew how to get what she wanted.
